A lot of people believe the wrong things regarding hair loss. This article will debunk the most popular hair loss myths out there. Learn about it by reading through this article.

When boys go through puberty, many parents warn them against masturbation by telling them that it can cause baldness. People who grow up with this myth in mind think that too much ejaculation can cause hair loss and so they abstain from sex. Masturbation and sex have nothing to do with hair loss.

Some people get scared when they notice that they are losing hair daily. This does not necessarily mean that you are balding. Hair goes through a normal cycle of growing, falling off and then regrowth. The truth is, people can lose as much as 100 hairs every day, and this is still normal.

There are people who avoid wearing hats out of the fear of hats causing baldness. There is slight truth to this. Hats that put excessive pressure on your hair can cause baldness if worn constantly. But regular hats that fit you right cannot cause hair loss, even if you wear them 24 hours a day.

Some people think that shampoo can cause baldness, because they notice that they lose hair after they shower. Shampoo does not cause baldness at all. There is hair fall after showering because bathing washes away old hairs that have already been shed off.

Some myths that go around involve the supposed cure for baldness. Some people think that washing their heads with cold water early in the morning can cure baldness. Cold water can improve blood circulation on your scalp, but it cannot cure baldness.

Some people stand on their heads or massage their scalp, thinking this can cure hair loss. Both of these methods increase circulation, but have no effect on hair loss.
